The French president called for using all means to maintain a dialogue with Russia “in various formats.
The three heads of state said they would continue close consultations with EU partners and NATO allies to guarantee peace and security in the Euro-Atlantic area.
Following the talks, they issued a joint statement calling on Russia to reduce tensions near Ukraine’s borders and begin a meaningful dialogue on security issues in Europe.
At the same time, they stressed that “any new Russian military aggression against Ukraine would have serious consequences”.
