The Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that the parent company of Facebook, Meta, be recognized as an “extremist organization” and that Instagram be banned in Russia.
Documents have already been sent to court.

In connection with the special military operation conducted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to protect the DNR and LNR, information materials containing calls to commit violent acts (murders) against citizens of the Russian Federation, including military personnel, are distributed in the social network Instagram, information containing calls for citizens in the Russian Federation to participate in mass disturbances accompanied by violence is systematically posted”. Says the report of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Facebook was already blocked in Russia on March 4, the social network was accused of censoring Russian state and pro-state media.
