The press service of the Department of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region confirmed the initiation of a criminal case against Vice-Rector of the Russian Customs Academy (RTA) Zalim Kerefov, he is suspected of drug trafficking. The case was opened under paragraph “d”, part 4 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code (illegal sale of drugs on a large scale). The SC did not disclose other details.

An Interfax source said that Kerefov was detained at his workplace, during the searches “several kilograms of synthetics were confiscated from him.” According to the source of the agency, the investigation believes that the Vice-Rector "created a wide network for the sale of drugs, which involved, among other things, cadets of the academy."

According to the information on the website of the university, Kerefov is also the director of the information technology center of the academy.

On June 30, RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau was detained . He is accused in a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale. Marina Rakova, the former Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Zuev, the rector of Shaninka, are involved in the same case.

On June 30, Vladimir Mau was re-elected to the board of directors of Gazprom.

On November 25 last year, the rector of Shaninka, Sergei Zuev, was charged under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale). According to investigators, in 2018, Zuev, together with former Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova and former Deputy General Director of the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development Yevgeny Zak, entered into a criminal conspiracy to steal funds from the RANEPA Institute.

Investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that 12 people were fictitiously employed at the RANEPA Institute. It was possible to identify violations during the investigation of a criminal case initiated against Rakova, who is accused of fraud. According to the investigators, these employees “did not actually perform any work in the educational organization, but at the same time they regularly received wages for a long time.”

Previously, similar charges were brought against Rakova and Zach.

In March, Vladimir Mau, together with the Russian Union of Rectors, signed a collective letter in support of Putin and the special operation.
