Boris Johnson refuses to step down despite government calls. Against this background, 51 officials have already left the government, SkyNews reports .

On July 6, a delegation of government representatives visited Johnson's residence, asking him to "resign with dignity" and not through a vote of no confidence: Johnson responded by saying that he intended to "keep the fight going."

A wave of resignations from the government began after the appointment of MP Chris Pincher, who was accused of sexual harassment, to a government position. After that, the Minister of Health and Sajid Javid and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak left their positions.

Even the writer JK Rowling called for the resignation of the British prime minister. She wrote on her Twitter: “Good God. When your shovel begins to melt from the scorching heat of the earth's core, stop digging."

At the same time, several members of the British government still supported Johnson, for example, the head of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Nadine Dorries, and the Minister for the use of opportunities for Brexit, Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Boris Johnson has already faced a no-confidence vote following an investigation into the party scandal Johnson threw during the pandemic. Then the members of the communities from the Conservative Party voted for the continuation of the work of the British Prime Minister: 211 people spoke in support of him, 148 against him.
