The Odessa regional military administration has denied Russian claims that a warehouse with Harpoon anti-ship missiles has been destroyed.

On July 16, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in a daily report reported that "high-precision long-range air-launched missiles in one of the buildings of an industrial enterprise in the city of Odessa destroyed a storage warehouse for Harpoon anti-ship missiles transferred to Ukraine by NATO countries."

According to OVA spokesman Sergei Bratchuk, on July 16, a missile fired by the Russian military hit a furniture company's warehouse, which was destroyed.

“[The Russian Ministry of Defense] fashioned Harpoon missiles out of furniture boards. They hit the warehouse of a trading and manufacturing company yesterday with a missile, where there was not even a hint of something military,” he said.

At the end of May, it became known that Denmark would transfer American-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles to the Ukrainian Navy.

Harpoon is different in that it can attack not only targets on the high seas, but also ships near the coast and even ground targets.
