On the evening of August 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down seven Russian missiles for a total of $91 million, Forbes calculated .

In total, Russia fired eight X-101 (X-555) type cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea area in the direction of the central, southern and western regions of Ukraine. Six of them were shot down by anti-aircraft missile forces, and one by an Air Force fighter. The cost of one such rocket is about $13 million.

Western weapons, which Ukraine has recently used, have become the reason for even more aggressive shelling from Russia. At the end of June, the head of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration, Vitaly Kim , said that such a number of missiles had not flown in the region since the very beginning of the war. On the 145th day of the war, he said that Nikolaev had not been shelled for only 21 days.
