In Chernihiv, a Ukrainian court sentenced Russian tanker Mikhail Kulikov to 10 years in prison, Grati reports . He was found guilty of shooting at a residential building.
At the first meeting, he admitted his guilt and stated that he repented .
He said that he entered the territory of Ukraine on the night of February 23-24. According to him, when his convoy reached Chernigov and walked down the street, commander Leonid Shchetkin shouted: “RPG, in the back, in a multi-storey building!” After that, Kulikov turned around and fired at the house.
At the beginning of the trial, Shchetkin was sent to Russia, he was exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners. He himself previously denied that the tanks fired at people or residential buildings.
In May, a court in Kiev sentenced Russian military Vadim Shishimarin to life in prison. Shishimarin is the first Russian accused of war crimes in Ukraine. Earlier, he pleaded guilty in a Kiev court. In July, an appeals court in Kiev changed his sentence from life imprisonment to 15 years in prison.
