Aksyonov: One person died during explosions in Crimea

As a result of explosions near the military airport in Novofedorovka, one person died, this was reported by the "head" of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov. According to him, the situation is localized and under control. There is no general evacuation in the area. Only residents of houses located in the immediate vicinity of the military airfield have been resettled.

Minister of Health of the occupied Crimea Konstantin Skorupsky, in turn, said that five people, including a child, were injured.

“As of 17:30, five victims were delivered to the Saki regional hospital, one of them is a child. Four received outpatient care as part of the primary surgical treatment of wounds due to cuts from glass fragments. The fifth victim is in the operating room," Skorupsky said, Interfax reports .

He clarified that four of the victims received minor wounds and have already been sent home, the fifth is in a state of moderate severity, nothing threatens his life.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the explosions in the area of ​​​​the military airport in Novofedorovka were the detonation of ammunition in a warehouse.

“At about 15:20, on the territory of the Saki airfield near the settlement of Novofedorovka, several aviation munitions detonated on a bunded storage site. No one was injured in the explosion. Aviation equipment at the airfield was not damaged, ”the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The agency notes that the causes of the explosion are now being investigated. “There was no fire impact on the bunded ammunition storage area at the airfield,” the message emphasizes.
