The leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk, sent a personal guarantee to the court for the municipal deputy of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow, Ilya Yashin, who had previously been sent to a pre-trial detention center for two months until September 12. A post about this appeared on the Telegram channel of the opposition politician.

The report says that the issue of extending Yashin's preventive measure will soon be considered. The channel also published the full text of Shevchuk's appeal:

“I, Yury Yulianovich Shevchuk, head of the DDT group, Russian passport number (...), registered at (...), vouch for the proper behavior of Yashin Ilya Valerievich, born on 07/29/1983, accused of committing a crime, responsible for which is provided for n. „e“ h. 2 Article. 207.3 of the Criminal Code, and his appearance on the call of the investigator, prosecutor, court.

Shevchuk noted that he knows Yashin as an honest, decent person, whose "heart aches for Russia and world peace." The musician also clarified that in the Constitution of the Russian Federation there are “guarantees of freedom of thought and speech”, which “no one has canceled”.

Yashin was sent to a pre-trial detention center for two months until September 12 by the decision of the Basmanny District Court. He was charged with "fakes about the army based on political hatred." Politics is charged with paragraph "d" part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) for speaking live on his YouTube channel on April 7 about what happened in Bucha.

The fact that a criminal case was opened against Yashin became known on July 12, when the administrative arrest of the politician for "disobedience to the police" ended. On this charge, Yashin served 15 days, a report on him was compiled by police sniper Alexei Mitrofankin, who claims that the deputy "grabbed him by the uniform, insulted him dirtyly and pushed him away with his hands." On May 25, Yashin was fined 30,000 rubles under the article on "discrediting the Russian army." The MP's crime was that he published a 1969 photograph of the Vietnam War protests. He accompanied the post with the comment: “Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity.” 50 years have passed, but the slogans are still relevant.”
