United Russia sent a proposal to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education to give academic leave to Russian students who go to war in Ukraine. This was stated by State Duma deputy, chairman of the committee on youth policy Artem Metelev, according to the party's website.
According to him, the “special operation” is attended by students who are to undergo the state final certification. At the same time, since the spring, the provision of academic leave to military personnel has been suspended.
“We need to provide them with a guarantee of education and give them the opportunity to take exams when they return home. Now the fighters are defending the interests of the Motherland, but soon they will return, and many will choose peaceful work and study.”
Metelev added that the committee is ready to assist the departments in providing guarantees for the continuation of education: “This applies to both military personnel undergoing training during the NWO period and citizens who wish to become volunteers.”
