At the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border in North Ossetia, there are 3.5 thousand cars. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Deputy Prime Minister of North Ossetia Irbek Tomaev. In addition, about 800 cars have accumulated on the administrative borders with the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the Republic of Ingushetia.

“The total number of transit vehicles on the roads of the republic is 4,891, including 1,391 heavy trucks and 3.5 thousand cars and trucks,” Tomaev said.

According to him, over the past week, more than 37,000 cars and over 115,000 people crossed the Northern Lars checkpoint in both directions, which is 23.3% more than a week earlier.

After the mobilization announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, traffic jams also formed on the borders of Russia with Kazakhstan and Finland, air tickets for the next flights to visa-free countries for Russians were sold out in a few hours.

Finnish authorities reported that nearly 17,000 Russians crossed the border over the past weekend, DOXA reports . This is 80% more than a week earlier.

On September 26, at the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint, an armored personnel carrier with Russian military personnel arrived at the convoy of cars trying to leave Russia.
