American actor, who plays the role of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, Mark Hamill has become an ambassador of the UNITED24 fundraising platform to help Ukraine. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky. He noted that Hamill was the first person to help raise funds specifically for the Army of Drones.

“This is a difficult but very important mission. Mark, we are sure that you will certainly cope with it. Thank you for supporting the Ukrainian people in our fight for our freedom,” Zelensky said.

The Army of Drones is a donation platform project for United24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the State Special Communications Service, which provides for the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and replacement, as well as operator training. Such drones can fly up to 24 hours at a distance of 160 km and at the same time remain almost invisible to the enemy eye. They are equipped with several cameras with a thermal imager, position sensors and software. They are hard to spot and even harder to shoot down.
