The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) began the de-occupation of the Luhansk region, as of the evening of October 5, Ukrainian troops liberated six settlements in the Luhansk region. This was announced by the head of the Lugansk Regional Military Administration (OVA) Serhiy Gaidai in the Telegram channel.
He wrote that people in the territories that Russia seized back in 2014 are waiting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Gaidai also recommended that the residents of the Luhansk region, who are now under occupation, move away from the front line or stay close to shelters, avoiding dangers if possible.
“In the deep rear of the Russians, barracks and ammunition depots are exploding. During forced mobilization in the Luhansk region, men are no longer asked about their health and marital status: they take away both the sick and those with many children.”
On October 4, pro-Russian Telegram channels reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had broken through the Russian defenses in the north of the Kherson region. The day before, the village of Dudchany was occupied, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to recapture Davydov Brod. If the situation does not change, Russian troops may lose control over the entire right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson. By the morning of October 5, the deputy head of the pro-Russian administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, announced that the Russian military was "carrying out a regrouping." According to him, this is happening because "it is necessary to gather strength and strike back."
On September 21, Putin announced a “partial” mobilization in Russia, after which Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu promised to mobilize “about 300,000 reservists.” However, summonses are distributed to almost everyone in a row, sometimes they try to hand them even to people who died many years ago.
