According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian Federation suffered the greatest losses in the Kramatorsk, Avdeevsky and Krivoy Rog directions.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense has reported three times on the deaths of Russian servicemen. For the last time, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, on the day the “partial” mobilization was announced in the country, September 21, said that 5,937 Russian soldiers had died since the beginning of the “special operation”.

In early June, the BBC Russian Service, citing a high-ranking representative of Western intelligence agencies, claimed that the number of Russian military dead during the war in Ukraine could reach 20,000. On August 19, journalists from the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona confirmed the names of 5,701 Russian servicemen who died in the war in Ukraine. Most of the losses were among the military from Dagestan (270 people), Buryatia (245 people) and the Krasnodar Territory (206 people).
