The Russian Prosecutor General's Office recognized the German non-governmental organization Dekabristen eV , which is engaged in strengthening civil society in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, as well as in the North and South Caucasus, as an "undesirable organization".
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the organization threatens the constitutional order and security of Russia.
On the website of the organization itself, its activities are described as follows:
“We advise and support NGOs, grassroots initiatives, social enterprises, artists and journalists. Our association and team includes experts and activists from Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and supported our alumni, partners and volunteers in Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zaporozhye with donations and emergency assistance. Since February 24, our employees have been helping in refugee centers, launching crowdfunding campaigns for Ukrainian partners, and supporting anti-war initiatives in Germany and Eastern Europe.”
In July 2022, The Insider was also declared an "undesirable organization" in Russia.
