After the preparation, which took several days, St. Petersburg lawyer Andrey Nikiforov died , Fontanka reports, citing relatives who told how Nikiforov was mobilized and what he told them in phone calls. His death became known to the media on October 13.

According to relatives, he did not receive the summons himself, as he was not at home. It was signed by his sister, who did not know that it was possible not to sign. Nikiforov then completed his legal practice, got ready and on September 24 left for the military registration and enlistment office, despite the resistance of his common-law wife.

He spent only three days at the exercises in Vyborg, sent a photograph from the training ground, which turned out to be the last. On October 2, he called from someone else's number from Belgorod, asked to pick up his passports and those of other military men, sent by courier service. No details or reasons for sending were given. In addition to their passport, documents of six more people were sent, one of the passports has already been handed over to relatives - there has been no contact with its owner since October 4.

Two days later, Nikiforov called to congratulate his daughter on her birthday, said that he was “somewhere in the fields, in tents and on dry rations” and promised that he would contact me later. It was the last call from Nikiforov.

On October 13, his ex-wife, whose contacts were available at the military registration and enlistment office, received a notice signed by the military commissar of the Primorsky district dated October 12. The notice stated that Private Andrei Nikiforov had been dead for five days already: “He died on October 7 while performing tasks during a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR.” As far as his relatives know, he died near Lisichansk in the north-west of the Luhansk region, this territory is controlled by Russia. The details of their death are unknown.
