Since October 10, as a result of Russian shelling, 30% of Ukrainian power plants have been destroyed. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Twitter:

“A type of Russian terrorist attack targeting Ukrainian energy and critical infrastructure. Since October 10, 30% of Ukrainian power plants have been destroyed, resulting in massive power outages across the country. There is no room left for negotiations with the Putin regime.”

On the morning of October 10, Russia launched a massive shelling of Ukraine. Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar, citing the General Staff, said that 83 missiles were fired at cities, 43 of them shot down air defense systems. As a result of the shelling, 11 people were killed and 87 were injured. On the morning of October 17, Kiev was subjected to a massive attack by kamikaze drones, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. A fire broke out in the Shevchenkovsky district, a residential building was damaged, five people died. As in previous attacks, the ammunition, the photo of which was published by Klitschko, was disguised as a certain Geranium-2 drone.

Against the background of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of Ukraine, the Russian troops repeatedly attacked the country's communal infrastructure. As a result of the shelling, the reserve line that supplied the settlements of the Kharkiv region was temporarily out of order, which left the region without electricity. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the infrastructure of the settlements of Veselaya Dolina, Dry Pond, Zaitsevo, New York, Kostromka, Pervomayskoye, Belogorovka, Kam, Stepnoye, Maly Shcherbaki, Belaya Krinitsa, Yuryevka and Mirnoye was damaged from air strikes and shelling of MLRS.
