Associate Professor Denis Skopin was fired from St. Petersburg State University (SPbGU) for participating in a rally against mobilization. Professor of the European University at St. Petersburg Ivan Kurilla told about this on his Facebook page.

The rally in question took place on September 21, the day the "partial" mobilization was announced, on St. Isaac's Square in St. Petersburg. For participation in it, Skopin received 10 days of arrest.

“Skopin D.A., together with other participants in this event, chanted the following slogans “No to war”, “No to mobilization”, expressing his opinion and shaping the opinion of those around him on the problem of disagreement with the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, ”says in the text of the resolution (spelling and punctuation preserved).

The leadership of the university in the text of the dismissal order writes that Skopin committed "an immoral offense incompatible with the continuation of this work."

Since the beginning of the war, employees of budgetary organizations who take an anti-war position have been fired all over Russia. It also applies to teachers. So, in early September, a 60-year-old school teacher was fired in Sevastopol, who used yellow-blue balloons as class decoration on Knowledge Day.
