In the city of Shebekino, Belgorod Region, two civilians were killed as a result of shelling, almost 15,000 people were disconnected from electricity due to a shell hit. This was announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov with reference to the "confirmed data" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Telegram channel. According to him, it will take 5-6 hours to eliminate the consequences and reconnect. The Russian Investigative Committee stated that one of those killed during today's shelling in Shebekino is a minor child, there are also wounded.
Sources of The Insider claim that Shebekin residents began to receive reports of shelling after they had ended, around 13:00-14:00.
The interlocutors also note that by the time the messages were received, response launches had already taken place towards Ukraine from the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, located closer to the border. There were "fortifications" there in the summer, local residents posted photos from the village on social networks, but "patriots attacked them and forced them to remove them."
According to sources, the shelling of the city continues for several days, more and more often it "arrives" close to the northern part of the city, where the machine-building plant is located. Now this plant is engaged in the production of bakery equipment.
“This time there were shellings in several places, not far from one of the places there is a chemical plant. In general, there are several of these, so it is difficult to say what exactly they were aiming at. There are several enterprises in Shebekino engaged in chemistry, paint and varnish products. Officially, the enterprises are not military, but they are working more actively now than before the war. The territory of the Central District Hospital was also turned into a parking lot for military vehicles. It seems to be a civilian facility, a hospital, but in fact it is also quite a target, because it is teeming with military personnel and equipment. There are not directly tanks, but a lot of military Urals, tents, a warehouse. Until the hospital did not seem to arrive. ”
Telegram channels publish videos of the aftermath of shelling:
Governor Gladkov also published a photo of damaged buildings:
He wrote that he was in Murom, and at the exit from the village he saw smoke in the Shebekino area.
“I immediately received information that the city of Shebekino was being shelled. Civilian objects were damaged. Eleven people were injured, four of them in serious condition. All were taken to the regional central hospital. All necessary medical care is being provided.”
The locals themselves tell The Insider that Shebekino has been unofficially living under "martial law" since the summer. The city has many parking lots with military equipment and warehouses used by the Ministry of Defense.
The road was blocked from the village of Razumnoye in the Belgorod region towards Shebekino. According to the interlocutor, local residents tried to get into the city along the field along the road, after a couple of hours the passage was opened.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Belgorod region has come under fire more often than other Russian regions. On the evening of October 13, explosions thundered near the village of Oktyabrsky, after which a fire broke out. Baza reported that several employees of the National Guard were killed, and 14 more were injured of varying severity. In addition, on October 15, according to the Ministry of Defense, two citizens of "one of the CIS countries" opened fire at a training ground in the Belgorod region. As a result, 11 people were killed and 15 injured. Baza claims that two Tajik citizens, 23-year-old Rakhmonov Mehrob and 24-year-old Eskhon Aminzod, who were mobilized as volunteers, opened fire. Both shooters were “destroyed by return fire,” but the Ministry of Defense did not name them.
