Estonian authorities prevented an attempt to export a batch of ball bearings to Russia, ERR reports with reference to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (NTD). They could be used for the needs of the military industry.

They tried to take the ball bearings away on a truck with a trailer, which was detained in early May at the Koidula border crossing point in Võrumaa. The border guards noticed inaccuracies in the documents provided by the driver and suspected him of transporting products subject to EU sanctions.

After the inspection of the car, it turned out that its driver was trying to take out of the country more than 7,000 ball bearings, as well as more than 2,000 other bearings. This is a dual-use product, the supply of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation. ball bearings

Ants Kutti, head of the external border area of the NTD, said that this was the first time that such a cargo had been intercepted on the Russian-Estonian border.

Since June 1, Poland has banned the movement of cars with Russian and Belarusian numbers across its border. This happened after the chairman of the State Duma, Volodin, spoke about the need to ban Polish trucks from traveling through the territory of the Russian Federation.
