Mishustin fired Deputy Minister of Transport Sukhanov, who was responsible for security on the Crimean bridge

Mikhail Mishustin dismissed Alexander Sukhanov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport, who oversaw the work of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Department of Departmental Security of the Ministry of Transport, which is responsible for transport security, including on the Crimean bridge. The order was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The document says that Sukhanov himself asked for his resignation.

On October 20, RBC, citing sources close to the Ministry of Transport, reported that Sukhanov would soon leave his post due to an explosion on the Crimean bridge.

Sukhanov became Deputy Minister of Transport in 2020. Since 2017, it was the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Department of Departmental Security of the Ministry of Transport, which he oversaw, who worked on the transport security of the Crimean Bridge. Among the tasks of the enterprise were the development of technical support for transport security, equipping it with the passage through the Kerch Strait and approaches to it from the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.

On October 12, the FSB announced that the organizer of the explosion on the Crimean bridge on October 8 is the head of military intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov. Another 12 people were allegedly involved in the attack, most of them have already been detained in Moscow.
