The "administration" of the annexed Kherson region, appointed by Russia, was evacuated from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper. This was announced by the deputy head of the "administration" of the region Kirill Stremousov.

“Moved from Kherson to the left-bank part. All the tasks facing us to ensure the life of the region are being fulfilled, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

According to him, city services "work in a special mode."

On October 22, the pro-Russian authorities demanded that civilians urgently leave Kherson "because of the tense situation at the front."

On October 24, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda, said that the evacuation of people and property by Russia from occupied Kherson is an information operation and manipulation, but in fact, new military units are being brought into the city, the streets are being prepared to the defense. According to him, Russia is “preparing the ground so that if something happens, get out of Kherson very quickly,” but at the same time it will defend itself.

The pro-Russian "head" of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said the day before that more than 70 thousand people had already left the right bank of the Dnieper for the left. The Russian military is taking away cultural objects, such as monuments to Alexander Suvorov, Fyodor Ushakov and Vasily Margelov. All this is done to allegedly protect "unique works of art from the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine." On October 26, it became known that the military stole a monument to Prince Grigory Potemkin and his remains from the St. Catherine's Church in Kherson.
