Russian pro-Kremlin media stopped mentioning and quoting State Duma deputies, who regularly commented on reshuffles in the Ministry of Defense and delays for the mobilized. The Telegram channel “We can explain” drew attention to this.
In particular, Nina Ostanina, head of the State Duma committee on family, women and children, Andrey Kartapolov, head of the defense committee, as well as his colleagues, Generals Andrey Gurulev, Andrey Krasov and Viktor Zavarzin, were banned.
The names of all four appeared regularly in pro-Kremlin media news back in October. So, Ostanina spoke about various deferrals for the mobilized – for example, for parents raising disabled children. Deputies from the Defense Committee spoke about reshuffles in the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, and also criticized the commander of the Center group, Alexander Lapin.
The only one who is still mentioned in the pro-government media is Kartapolov. On November 7, RIA Novosti quoted him in the news about the opening of a monument to General Mikhail Yefremov in Moscow.
According to Nestka , citing a source in one of the federal publications, the initiative to limit the speeches of deputies belongs to representatives of the bloc of the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko. Relevant instructions were sent to the media belonging to the Russia Today group.
