Energy company DTEK "Kyiv electrical networks" reported emergency power outages in Kiev. Posted on Telegram.
“There are emergency blackouts in Kyiv. Schedules of emergency shutdowns, which were drawn up earlier, are not yet in effect. DTEK power engineers, together with specialists from National Energy Company Ukrenergo, other emergency services and government authorities, are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation as soon as possible.”
The company asked residents of the capital to consume electricity moderately.
After the Armed Forces occupied Kherson, on November 15, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Kiev and more than ten cities in Ukraine, launching 90 missiles. Most – 70 missiles – shot down air defense systems, however, some missiles hit residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities, and some regions and regions of Ukraine were left without electricity for a while. The head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Sinegubov, stated that the region was almost completely de-energized. A total of 15 energy infrastructure facilities were affected .
In early November, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that the city authorities were preparing for the worst-case scenario in the winter – a complete lack of electricity, water and heat supplies due to Russian rocket attacks. More than 1,000 heating points for city residents are being prepared for this occasion. At the end of October, due to massive shelling of the energy infrastructure in Ukraine, emergency power outages were introduced.
