The nuclear icebreaker "Yakutia" was launched in St. Petersburg, and soon the flag will be raised over the icebreaker "Ural". These ships will help Russia develop $30 trillion worth of Arctic mineral resources.

An energy crisis is raging on the planet, "green energy" is still not paying off, but a way out has been found in the Arctic. It produces approximately 10% of the world's oil and 25% of gas. And 80% of all Arctic resources are located in the Russian north.

The Russian government recently signed a plan for the development of the Arctic until 2035. The launching of the icebreakers Yakutia and Ural is the first stage of this large-scale idea. Rosatom was able to set up a stream production of icebreakers (they are built one per year), and now the cargo flow along the Northern Sea Route (the shortest from Europe to Asia) is 31 million tons more than in 2014. And in the plans - a tenfold increase.
