Finland's government has submitted a bill to parliament to join NATO, the country's Foreign Ministry said .
The day before, the country's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said that Finland's decision to apply for NATO membership was the war in Ukraine and Moscow's "nuclear rhetoric".
Finland (as well as Sweden) applied to join NATO in May 2022. At first, this initiative was opposed by Turkey, which accused Helsinki and Stockholm of harboring persons recognized by Ankara as terrorists. However, after a series of negotiations, the parties managed to resolve the differences.
