President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited an abandoned workshop in one of the hottest spots - Bakhmut, fierce battles are now continuing in this area. Serhiy Nikiforov, press secretary of the president's office, told Hromadske about the visit of the Ukrainian leader to the front line, the video was published by the Freedom channel.

“Bakhmut heroes should receive the same that every person receives. I wish that their children, families - that everything is fine with them, that it is warm, that there is health. I would like to wish that there was light, but such a difficult situation that light is either there or not. The main thing is for the light to be inside," Zelensky said during the award ceremony for servicemen.

Nikiforov also told Ukrayinska Pravda that Zelensky left Bakhmut after the awards were given to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The military handed over the Ukrainian flag to the US Congress through Zelensky as a token of gratitude to the United States for the supply of weapons and assistance.

Zelensky published a photo from Bakhmut on his Telegram channel and stated that the military personnel prove with their courage that Ukraine will stand and will not give up its lands. He added that both he and the country are proud of the fighters, and thanked them for their courage and steadfastness in repelling enemy attacks.

Earlier it became known that the "forward positions" visited by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu are located 75 km from the front line.
