Vladimir Putin suddenly canceled his trip to Nizhny Tagil, for which city residents had been preparing for several days. According to E1.RU sources, the presidential cortege of Aurus cars left for Yekaterinburg airport on the night of December 22-23 to return to Moscow.

E1.RU writes that Putin was going to visit Uralvagonzavod during his trip to Nizhny Tagil. According to local residents, for two days before the expected visit, cleaning equipment drove around the enterprise, which cleared roads and sidewalks, among other things, from snow. According to Tagil residents, it is the issue of snow removal that is especially painful for them. Local publics regularly publish photos with snowy mountains where they do not belong at all.

In addition, the city introduced a ban on the departure of training cars on the streets. Driving schools in Nizhny Tagil had to cancel practical classes for one day. Also, because of Putin's visit, the opening of the main Christmas tree of the Dzerzhinsky district was canceled in the city. The event has been rescheduled for Monday, December 26th. Restrictions were also introduced in Yekaterinburg, at the airport where Putin was supposed to land. Drivers of local public transport were forbidden to release passengers, including at stops, when approaching Putin's motorcade.

At the end of the year, Putin canceled all meetings where he could be asked about the war against Ukraine. So, on December 12, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that for the first time in ten years there would be no big annual press conference, and the message to the federal assembly was postponed to 2023.
