The Ministry of Defense acknowledged the death of 63 Russian soldiers after the missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Makiivka

The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged that as a result of a missile attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) on the building of vocational school No. 19 in Makeyevka, Lugansk region, where Russian servicemen were stationed, 63 soldiers were killed. This is reported by TASS with reference to the department.

The report also says that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck on the night of January 1 at the location of HIMARS mobilized from the MLRS.

“During the missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Makiivka in the DPR, 63 Russian servicemen were killed. All necessary assistance and support will be provided to the relatives and friends of the servicemen who died in Makiivka.”

TASS reported with reference to the law enforcement agencies of the so-called DPR that the reason for the strike on the building of the vocational school, where the Russian military was stationed, was their high "cellular activity". Representatives of the "DPR" confirmed the information about the strike, but claimed that 15 people were injured.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops occupied "new profitable frontiers" as a result of an offensive in the Donetsk direction. What kind of "favorable frontiers" is not specified. The report also says that the Russian Aerospace Forces hit the points of temporary deployment of the “foreign legion” in the so-called DPR and the Kharkov region, and “destroyed” more than 70 foreign mercenaries. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost more than 40 people in the "DPR" after the attack by the Russian Armed Forces, according to the Ministry of Defense. The Ukrainian side did not comment on these data. In addition, the Ministry of Defense claims that they destroyed two M777 artillery systems transferred by the United States.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of January 1, Makiivka was hit by a rocket attack, as a result of which the building of vocational school No. 19 was destroyed. According to the Ukrainian side, there were mobilized Russians in the building, about 400 people could die, about 300 get injured.
