The Chamber of Lawyers of the Krasnodar Territory began disciplinary proceedings against lawyer Mikhail Benyash after the relevant request of the Ministry of Justice.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice recommended to deprive Benyash of his legal status because of his publications, which "discredit the civil service, as well as employees of the executive authorities."

“If the truth said by the lawyer is the basis for depriving him of his status, well, ok. To be this way, ”Benyash commented on the decision. According to him, we are talking, in particular, about the post, which refers to the accelerated aging of bribe-takers .

The session of the commission on the deprivation of Benyash's legal status will be held on January 27.

In October 2022, the Ministry of Justice included Benyash in the list of "natural persons-foreign agents".

In 2018, Benyash was charged with assaulting a police officer. As OVD-Info recalls , Benyash was beaten by police officers when he was walking towards the detainees at a rally against raising the retirement age. According to investigators, during the arrest, the lawyer bit one police officer and hit another with his elbow several times in the face. As a result, Benyash was found guilty and fined 30 thousand rubles.
