In Serov (a city in the north of the Sverdlovsk region), a solemn funeral was held for 46-year-old Sergei Molodtsov, who died in the war in Ukraine, having gone there as part of the Wagner PMC. According to Ekaterinburg Online, Sergei was recruited in a colony where he served time for the murder of his own mother.
Here is how Sergey's personality was described in the city administration:
“He was a creative person, engaged in bone carving, worked in a jewelry workshop. Relatives remember Sergei as a surprisingly extraordinary person who loves life. He was an honest man. Truth is the most important thing for him. He always responded to someone else's misfortune, helped the weak and the needy. They say about such people: shirt-guy. He loved music, freedom, speed. Bright memory!"
The head of the Serov urban district confirmed the information about the criminal record of the deceased: "He was serving a sentence for a serious crime, a murderer." Despite this, Sergei Molodtsov was buried on January 5 as a hero: the military carried his coffin, and veterans spoke at parting, talking about his courage.
Judging by the materials of the case of Molodtsov, because of which he ended up in a colony, the “hero” beat his own mother to death:
“In a state of intoxication, Molodtsov was in an apartment with his elderly mother. He struck with his hands and feet at least six blows to the head, torso and limbs, ”the text of the verdict says.
In early January, the media drew attention to the fact that one of the prisoners, whom the founder of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin promised freedom, was in prison for the murder of his grandmother, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
