State Duma deputy from the "United Russia" from Novosibirsk, Dmitry Savelyev, said that he would go to the front and even boarded the train that was going there. However, on the way, he secretly got off the train and flew to Moscow. This is reported by the Taiga Info publication, citing sources, including in the regional legislature.
Savelyev said back in December. that he had decided to join the Vega volunteer battalion. The fact that Savelyev had already actually become part of Vega was written in early January by the branch of United Russia in the Moshkovsky district of the region. Together with the battalion, he went to the front, having set off from Novosibirsk. However, in Chany the deputy got off the train.
From there, he drove by car to Omsk, and already from the Omsk airport went to the capital. The publication writes that if Savelyev had gone not to Omsk, but to Novosibirsk, then his return would have become known much earlier, so the airport was probably not chosen by chance further from the city, where Savelyev is well known.
In the State Duma, Savelyev is a member of the commission to investigate the facts of interference of foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia, the commission to review federal budget expenditures aimed at ensuring national defense, national security and law enforcement, as well as the committee on security and combating corruption.
