Lawyers of the SOS crisis group arrived at the building of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Shelkovsky district of the Chechen Republic, where Idris Arsamikov, abducted at Domodedovo airport, is allegedly located, but they are not allowed inside. The employees of the department refuse to talk about Arsamikov.
The lawyer filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee and asked to check the employees who do not allow him to see his client and do not provide any information about him. “Nothing has been known about Idris for more than a day,” SOS said in a statement.
On February 15, Idris Arsamikov was detained at Domodedovo without presenting any documents and taken away in an unknown direction. Human rights activists report that he faces torture and death in Chechnya.
According to Idris himself, he is being persecuted for being homosexual. A few years ago, he was already abducted near Grozny, beaten and tortured with electric current.
