“I’m sure there will be a win.” Zelensky spoke about his mistakes and the worst day of the war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference dedicated to the first year of the war that Ukraine would win the war with Russia if Western partners did their "homework".

“I am sure that there will be a victory. I really hope that this will happen this year. But for this you need to fulfill a number of conditions. Everyone, including Western partners, must do their "homework" in full. Deliveries, sanctions, pressure on the Russian Federation,” he said.

According to Zelensky, any negotiations with Russia can only take place on the basis of Ukraine's "peace formula", which implies the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukraine, the return to the 1991 borders, including the return of Crimea.

When asked what he considers his biggest mistake during the war, Zelensky answered evasively: “I am a living person. I make mistakes every day. The main thing is that I, as president, should not have fatal mistakes, because of which I, as the guarantor of the Constitution and the guarantor of the protection of the state, can lose it with you. Word to God, there was no such mistake.

Speaking about the most difficult day of the war, he named the day when it became known about the atrocities of the Russian military in Bucha. “The most difficult, because the most terrible. The most terrible is probably Bucha. What I saw. The moment we de-occupied. It was very scary. We saw that the devil is somewhere out there, he is on the ground,” the President of Ukraine said.
