Rallies are held in Moscow and the regions in honor of Boris Nemtsov, who was killed exactly eight years ago. People put up his portraits and lay flowers, the largest action takes place in Moscow on the Zamoskvoretsky bridge, where the politician was shot dead. Police stop passers-by, media report first arrests:

People also gather at the Troekurovsky cemetery near his grave. “A few days before the assassination, at one of the press conferences, he predicted that Putin would attack all of Ukraine. It turns out that his prediction came true,” Ekaterina, a Nemtsov Bridge volunteer and a member of the Solidarity movement, told SOTA.

For the second day in Novosibirsk, people have been bringing flowers to the monument to the victims of political repression. A spontaneous memorial in honor of Nemtsov was also created there.

An action of memory is also taking place in Yekaterinburg. As Sirena notes, earlier the Ministry of Public Security of the Sverdlovsk Region banned the bringing of portraits, posters and candles, but laying flowers has not yet been banned. At 1.31, at the time of Nemtsov's assassination, a minute of silence will be announced. Memorials also appeared in Kirov, Kazan, Barnaul, Perm and Nizhny Novgorod.

In Barnaul, an action of memory was held by the Altai branch of Yabloko. About 20 people gathered at the monument to the victims of political repressions on Freedom Square, Taiga Info writes, there have been no arrests yet.

Nemtsov's friend and closest associate in the Solidarity opposition movement, Ilya Yashin, who is in SIZO No. 4 Medved, handed over a publication about the night Nemtsov was killed.

“The two scariest nights of my life: February 24, 2022 and February 27, 2015. The night Putin started the war with Ukraine. And the night my friend Boris Nemtsov was killed. I still remember the stupor in which I stood on the bridge next to Bori's body. His open glazed eyes. And the gloomy Kremlin is in the background. That night, I promised myself not to leave Russia anywhere, not to be afraid of anything and to stand on the side of the truth, for which Nemtsov gave his life. May God give me the strength to keep this vow. Sleep well, Boris.
