The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined journalist Yulia Starostina (previously worked for Project and The Bell) 50,000 rubles, who began helping Ukrainian refugees after the start of the war. It is reported by Mediazona.

Starostina was found guilty under the article on “discrediting” the army because of her words on the air of the Dozhd TV channel that she feels responsible and considers it necessary to do what can help end the war as soon as possible.

After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Yulia Starostina collected humanitarian aid through social networks, which she took to the settlement centers for Ukrainian refugees in Russia. After initiating an administrative case, the journalist decided to suspend this activity.
