Honored coach of Russia in figure skating Eteri Tutberidze did not come to the ceremony of awarding the Order of Alexander Nevsky, which took place today in Moscow. This was announced by Deputy General Producer of Match TV Vasily Konov.
In response to The Insider's question about the reasons for this decision, Eteri Tutberidze said: "I got sick."
Earlier, according to the decree of Vladimir Putin, Tutberidze was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for ensuring the successful preparation of athletes for the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. The Order of Alexander Nevsky is awarded to citizens of Russia for "high personal achievements in various sectors of the economy, research, socio-cultural, educational and other socially useful activities."
After the start of the war in Ukraine, the media noticed that Tutberidze removed photos with the Russian flag and Vladimir Putin from her social networks. However, the coach herself said that many photos in her social networks “disappeared” after the page was hacked:
“How can you think in a limited way. You were not at all embarrassed that the posts dedicated to my departed parents disappeared, a separate post to my mother? After the hack, various posts related to important events in my life, including very personal ones, disappeared on my page.
