The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced that all those detained for administrative violations at the protest actions on March 7 and 8 against the adoption of the law on "foreign agents" have been released.

The investigation of criminal cases related to violent events continues, the department added. “Investigative actions are being carried out to identify, identify and detain persons who attacked police officers and other violent acts at a protest rally near the parliament building,” the Interior Ministry said.

In total, according to official data, on March 7 and 8, 134 people were detained in the center of the Georgian capital. At the same time, a protest action began again in the center of Tbilisi. Judging by the reports of eyewitnesses, it passes peacefully.

Protests against the adoption of the laws "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" and "On the Registration of Foreign Agents" began on March 7 after the law began to be suddenly discussed at the plenary meeting, despite the fact that the discussion was scheduled for March 9. The draft law was adopted in the first reading.

An analogue of the Russian law on "foreign agents" is actively supported by representatives of the ultra-conservative nationalist Internet platform Alt-Info (Alt-Info), associated with the Kremlin.
