Wildberries employees began a mass strike, distribution points were closed in some regions

On March 15, employees of the Russian marketplace Wildberries launched a mass strike against the system of fines that have been in effect for them since March 3 and low wages. In some regions, including Barnaul, Yekaterinburg, Blagoveshchensk, the Irkutsk region and Kuzbass, order pick-up points (POPs) do not work. Telegram channels publish photos and videos showing announcements of non-working pickup points.

Employees will accept goods from warehouses, but will not issue parcels. According to the new rules, the full cost of the goods is withheld from the marketplace employees if the buyer returns a defective or replaced item. A representative of Wildberries told Forbes the day before that pickup points were operating as usual. The Prosecutor's Office of the Moscow Region has begun an investigation into the marketplace.

On the morning of March 15, Wildberries stated that information about the closure of distribution points and strikes is not true. Representatives of the company told It's My City that the Telegram channels "blew a molehill out of a fly." “They presented it as a“ rebellion ”or“ assault ”of partners, but they represent only 0.1% of their total number,” the press service noted.

In Buryatia, on the doors of some points there are inscriptions “Closed for technical reasons” and qr-codes with information about the problem.

One of the organizers of the MEGA Bunt Telegram chat, which employs about 10 thousand employees of the marketplace, told Forbes that employees plan to go to work so as not to violate the terms of employment contracts, but there will be no delivery of goods to buyers.
