Irkutsk Deputy Police Chief German Bratchikov shot himself in his office, Astra reports citing its own sources. According to the Telegram channel, this happened on the morning of March 19 after a conference call.

In the afternoon, Bratchikov's office, which did not get in touch, was broken into and a body was found. According to preliminary data, a 50-year-old policeman shot himself with a Makarov service pistol.

The death of Bratchikov is reported by the regional publication IrkutskMedia, without giving a reason. The report only says that the policeman "tragically passed away." IRKSIB clarifies that Bratchikov has served in the Irkutsk police since 1996. He has held the position of deputy chief of the city police since 2016.

In September 2021, the head of the investigative department of the TFR for the Perm Territory, Sergei Sarapultsev, was found dead. It was reported that he committed suicide after a meeting with the chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin. The head of the Investigative Committee came to Perm in connection with the investigation of the massacre at the Perm State University.
