The Reutov garrison military court arrested until May 4 the deputy commander of the Central District of the Russian Guard, Major General Vadim Dragomiretsky. He is accused of taking bribes totaling 28 million rubles. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to its correspondent from the courtroom.
Dragomiretsky is charged with articles on taking a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of office (part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). According to RIA Novosti, the officer admits his guilt, but not in full. According to Alexander Khinshtein, head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Dragomiretsky’s criminal case concerns systematic “kickbacks” from a contractor company that was engaged in the reconstruction of one of the military units of the Moscow region:
“According to preliminary data, a total of 19 million rubles were transferred by merchants. Colonel Kochiev, head of the district base for storing material resources, was also part of the criminal scheme. He was detained by security officers the day before and is now in jail.” According to RIA Novosti, there are no arrestees with the name of the deputy commander in the database of military courts, although Khinshtein writes that he is already in jail. However, this may be due to delays on the part of the site.
