A court in Ufa sentenced Konstantin Vyropaev, head of the training and conscription department of the military commissariat for the Ordzhonikidzevsky and Kalininsky districts, who helped several hockey players evade service for bribes. According to the STRC Bashkortostan, he was sentenced to six years of probation and a fine of 1.8 million rubles.
The defendant pleaded guilty and refused to participate in the debate during the trial.
Vyropaev was taken into custody in October 2022. In February, the court sentenced Vyropaev himself and his wife Anzhelika to three years' probation and a fine of 510 thousand rubles, who confessed to mediating the transfer of bribes.
Earlier, in April 2022, Farit Samigullin, a local businessman, was arrested on charges of mediating the purchase of military tickets. According to UFA1.ru, after interrogating him, the investigation came to the hockey players Anvar Suleimanov, Vladislav Lukin and Mikhail Vorobyov, who, through Samigullin, gave Vyropaev bribes to get military tickets. All three were subsequently brought to trial and found guilty. Suleymanov was sentenced to five years probation, Lukin was fined 2.2 million rubles, Vorobyov – 2 million rubles. In addition, for giving a bribe, Vyropayeva was convicted of the former player of the youth team of FC Ufa Dmitry Belozerov: the football player was fined 400 thousand rubles.
Currently, the court in Ufa is considering the case of HC Metallurg striker Semyon Koshelev, who is also accused of bribing Vyropaev. Samigullin's case has not yet been considered in court.
In July, it became known that Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov and CSKA forward Pavel Karnaukhov allegedly used the services of Samigullin. According to investigators, in 2017 they also paid bribes to evade military service.
