The "Lesson of Courage" is "the most effective means of discussing with students ideas about courage, duty, physical and moral readiness to help, honor, responsibility," according to the methodological recommendations of the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives. The site also states that the purpose of the "lesson of courage" is to develop students' ideas about the responsible civic behavior of children and youth using the examples of "the courageous deeds of their peers." In addition to the “lessons of courage”, Russian schools now also host the lessons “Talk about the important” from the Ministry of Education. On them, according to the department, schoolchildren are taught patriotism, introduced to the history of the country and its cultural values. In June, it became known that among the topics of such classes are the 110th anniversary of Sergei Mikhalkov (author of the hymns of the USSR and Russia), “reunification with the Crimea”, “Immortal Regiment”. In St. Petersburg, in the process of preparing teachers for these class hours, it was stated that they would help protect the younger generation from the Internet, which is especially important "during a special operation."
