In January, the Russian Foreign Ministry demanded that Latvian Ambassador Maris Riekstins leave Russia within two weeks. On January 23, the Foreign Ministry announced that the Estonian ambassador should leave Russia on February 7. This decision was a response to the reduction in the size of the Russian embassy in Tallinn, the ministry said.
