A new discipline will appear in Russian universities, the task of which will be to form "an intolerant attitude towards manifestations of extremism, terrorism, corrupt behavior" and teach "to counteract them in professional activities." The corresponding decree was published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
As the press service of the ministry told TASS, the new discipline will be included in undergraduate and specialist programs from September 1, 2023. The program for which the training will take place, each university must draw up independently.
RIA Novosti clarifies that earlier in Russian educational standards, among the universal competencies that bachelors should have, was the ability to "form an intolerant attitude towards corrupt behavior." Now extremism and terrorism have been added to this formulation.
