Demand for warehouses in the post-Soviet countries from Russian retailers and logistics companies has doubled, which has led to a shortage of such premises. According to Kommersant, this may complicate the further growth of parallel imports to Russia, the volume of which has already reached 2.4 million tons of goods worth $20 billion.
According to NF Group estimates, the demand of Russian companies for warehouse space from their nearest neighbors began to grow last year and by the spring of this year reached about 400 thousand square meters. m. In Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, there are practically no free areas left, in Belarus no more than 2.8% of 1.6 million sq. m. m of warehouse space, in Uzbekistan – no more than 4.5% of 207 thousand square meters. m.
At the same time, the main demand is formed by large retailers, including those from e-commerce, and logistics operators. The commercial director of the developer of logoparks Ghelamco, Alexander Perfilyev, told Kommersant that about 80% of requests for warehouses come from the Wildberries and Ozon marketplaces. So, Ozon has warehouses and logistics infrastructure in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
