The Russian officer, whom Ukraine is going to try for the murder of civilians in Irpin, died in the war, and in Russia an Alley of Memory was opened in his honor. As Important Stories found out , we are talking about the captain of the Airborne Forces Stanislav Stenin, who in May 2022 was buried with honors in his homeland - in Skopin, Ryazan Region.

On April 11, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced that the case against the company commander from the 106th Tula Airborne Division of the Russian Army had been submitted to court. According to the prosecution, on March 6, 2022, the military from this company fired at a convoy of civilian vehicles, in which residents tried to leave the city of Irpin, Kyiv region. As a result, five people were killed. In addition, the Russian military did not allow assistance to the wounded.

In this message, the name of the accused is not called, but back in February, the Prosecutor General's Office announced suspicion of the murder of the inhabitants of Irpen by three military men from the 106th division: reconnaissance captain Stanislav Stenin, private Grigory Biryukov and sergeant Vyacheslav Buryak. The National Police of Ukraine, in turn, published photographs of those suspected of shooting the convoy on March 6, although they did not name them.

"Important stories" confirmed the identity of the accused, whose case was transferred to the Ukrainian court. This is Stanislav Stenin. In April 2022, he died in the war, as reported by the press service of the Skopin administration. In June, the Alley of Memory of Stenin was opened in one of the squares of the city, and in September, memorial plaques appeared in honor of three military men who died in Ukraine, including Stenin, at Skopin's school No. 3, where the deceased studied.

Sergeant Buryak also died in the war in May last year, and received the Order of Courage posthumously.
