In December 2022, Gazprom employees were allowed to leave Russia for 14 “friendly” countries. Nestka writes about this, citing sources in the state corporation.
According to them, Belarus, Serbia, Turkey, China, UAE, Sri Lanka, India, Morocco, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are on the list of “most preferred to visit” countries. Sources of Nestka stated that they do not know on what basis this list was formed. One of the interlocutors of the publication believes that it includes countries with which Gazprom has established partnerships. However, even in the case of a trip to one of them, employees of the state corporation must report to their superiors.
In December, Nestka wrote that employees of Russian state-owned oil and gas companies were unofficially banned from traveling abroad. It was reported that the ban also applies to the closest relatives of Gazprom employees.
