The FSB detained a 19-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg in North Ossetia in a criminal case on preparations for treason. This was reported by the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Alania" with reference to the press service of the republican UFSB.

The investigation claims that the detainee was going to leave for Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian army. He allegedly found representatives of one of the armed formations via Telegram and “expressed his intention” to join it, providing his personal data.

“Having received instructions about the need to meet in Georgia with a representative of an armed formation, the man arrived in Vladikavkaz for further crossing the border, but was detained,” the FSB press service said.

The detainee's name has not been released. It is also unknown whether the court chose a measure of restraint for him.
