Mutual shelling resumed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on May 12 at 16:50, the armed forces of Azerbaijan fired at the positions of the Armenian military, which are located near the city of Kut. The adoption of "appropriate preventive and protective measures" was noted.
During the day, Azerbaijani troops, according to information from the Armenian Defense Ministry, used, among other things, mortars and small arms. The shelling continues.
In turn, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan claims that at 11:30 on the same day, Armenia attacked the positions of the Azerbaijani military with the help of attack drones in the direction of the village of Zod in the Basarkecher region.
The website of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan provides photographs of the tail of a small destroyed drone of an unnamed model. “Our units detected air targets in a timely manner and, using electronic warfare, neutralized them before reaching the target,” writes the Azerbaijani side.
The Armenian side reports one soldier killed and one wounded. Azerbaijanis do not report losses.
The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are due to meet in Brussels on May 14 under the auspices of the Council of the European Union to discuss the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, which resumed between the two countries in September 2020. This meeting will not be final and is unlikely to end with the signing of any official agreements. It will discuss "current events".
